Mission Statement
VCF is an interdenominational, full gospel Christian church and
Bible teaching center. Our
purpose is to bring the lost to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to mature
and equip believers for the work of the ministry through the teaching of the
uncompromised Word of God.
Our Ministry
We believe that God has a plan for every person
that will produce a life of peace, joy, victory and success. Therefore, our goal
is to tell everyone we know about Jesus, who will save them, bless them, and
help them discover God’s will and destiny for their lives.
Our worship style is contemporary and informal, and our dress is casual. All are
welcome!
Sunday mornings at VCF begin with a "Fellowship Hour", which starts at 9:30am.
Breakfast is provided by scheduled “host” church families.
Our Sunday morning Celebration of Worship begins at 10:30am with 25-30 minutes
of contemporary praise and worship and freedom to express spiritual gifts, pray,
read scriptures, or share praise reports as the Lord leads. The service also
includes special music and teaching from the Word. Following the praise and
worship each Sunday, VCF offers Children’s Church for kids from age 4 through
6th graders. A nursery is available for infants through 3 year olds.
We celebrate communion the first Sunday of each month.
Additional services include an adult Bible study and prayer meeting and a teen’s
youth group meeting at the church on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm, a College
Fellowship that meets on Sunday evenings at 7pm during the school year, a Men’s
Fellowship that meets the 3rd Saturday of the month at 8am, and a Ladies’ Bible
study the meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 10am. The men’s and
ladies meetings do not meet during the summer months.
Additional opportunities for fellowship at VCF include a variety of cookouts,
dinners, and parties at various times throughout the year.
Our Sunday morning messages are recorded and uploaded to our church web site,
where you can listen to them or download them free of charge. Our web address
is: http://www.vcflynchburg.org.
Our messages are also streamed live on Facebook each Sunday morning and can be
seen on our church Facebook page, www.facebook.com/VCFLynchburg
VCF is governed by the Pastor in conjunction with the Board of Elders. These
leaders meet periodically to review the churches financial status, pray, and
plan for future ministry. Financial reports are made available quarterly to
anyone attending the church. VCF is not a membership based organization, but a
covenant based community of believers. Pastoral services - counseling,
dedications, weddings, etc. - are provided to those who faithfully attend and
support the church.
We are grateful to those who want to assist us in the work of the ministry. We
are always looking for faithful, dependable people who are willing to work in
helps ministries such as nursery workers, ushers/greeters, or as singers,
musicians, or Children’s church workers, or any other place where we can use
their gifts and talents. Consideration is given to offers of assistance to
those who demonstrate commitment to VCF through faithful attendance for at least
six months. We look for humility, integrity, and Christian maturity in those
who desire to teach on any level.
For spiritual and legal reasons, we do not perform weddings, infant/children
dedications, or any other pastoral services for people who do not faithfully
attend services at VCF
Outreach
VCF is actively
involved in outreach, both locally and around the world. Locally, we assist in
paying utility/rent bills in crisis situations, and provide a monthly dinner
meal at a men's shelter. We have built our Victory Houses to be used as temporary
emergency shelters for families who experience tragedies such as house fires.
Information about the national and international ministries we support as well
as information about our Victory House and Victory Outreach Center
projects can be
found on our
Outreach page.
